Schedule automatic updates

Destiny® automatically checks for available software updates from Follett School Solutions, Inc. on an hourly basis. As the Destiny Administrator, you can have Destiny automatically update its software on a schedule that you set up.

By providing your email address, you can also have Destiny send you an email notification when new updates become available.

When new updates are available, Destiny displays a notification bar at the top of the window. Clicking this bar allows you to schedule the update or displays the existing schedule for the update (if automatic updates are enabled). You also have the option of removing a scheduled update.

To configure automatic updates

1. If you are a Destiny Administrator, open the District Options tab of Setup.
   If you are a Super Administrator, open the Options tab of Setup.
2. Click Edit adjacent to Auto Update Settings.
3. If you want Destiny to send you an email notification when new updates become available, enter your email address.
   Click Test Email to verify that you can receive the email notification.
4. If you want Destiny to automatically install the updates for you, select Enable automatic updates at and specify a time and day(s) of the week.
5. Click Save when you are done.

After Destiny updates its software, Destiny sends a confirmation email that includes the information about the update.
