The better record

If Destiny® determines that an incoming record is a duplicate of a record already in your database, it then determines which one is the better record.

It does so by comparing the number of access points (for example, subjects) and additional information (for example, notes) in the records. If both records contain exactly the same number of subjects and notes, Destiny finally considers the overall size of each record.

If an existing record is deemed better than the incoming record, the existing record is preserved.

If the incoming record is deemed better than an existing record, however, you can choose either to replace the existing record with the incoming record or to preserve your existing record.
