Follett Digital Platform integration

• Ability to configure ports for the Destiny application server
• Access to the config.properties file on the Destiny application server
• Ability to allow inbound and outbound traffic from and to an IP address

Procedure

note This step is unnecessary for Follett-hosted districts and schools Follett has already performed this task.

Follett also recommends that Destiny be available outside the district network.

The permission to allow Follett digital platform administration.

 

Procedure

1. Log in as district user.
2. Go to Catalog > Search Setup > Digital.
3. Under Follett Digital Setup, click Connect.

NOTE A Follett digital platform must be set up by a district user, not a site admin.

If your district has purchased Follett eBooks that are shared among multiple schools, the district cataloger (one with the Manage Library Materials for the District permission) needs to log in to the district to authorize the district's connection to the Follett Digital Platform.

You can provide a Guest password for patrons who do not log in to Destiny.

Procedure

If your Follett eBooks had reviews in Destiny, the integration process moved them to Follett Digital Platform. To add them to their respective records in Follett Digital Platform, follow the directions in Process Reviews.

The district cataloger and district administrators can perform additional administrative tasks on their Follett Digital Platform as needed:

• Set up circulation policies for Follett eBooks. See Setting Up Circulation Policies for Follett eBooks.
• Set up reading program limiters in Follett Digital Platform.
• Hide any shared district titles that are not relevant or appropriate for the library's patrons.
