Map file

Important This file is required to successfully upload patron pictures.

The picture-to-patron map file links each image file to the appropriate patron record. This file can be provided by a photography service, such as Lifetouch National School Studios. You also have the option to create the file.

Verify accuracy of map file

It is important that the map file be formatted and named correctly.

Map file requirements:

• The map file name: idlink.txt.
• Each line in the map file must contain one patron's information (comma is required with no spaces).
  • First field = the patron's barcode (if loading at the site) or district ID (if loading at the district)
  • Second field = the name of the picture in the zip file to be loaded for that patron
• Each line item in the map file must end with a carriage return.
• The map file should not contain a header line.
• Supported image files are .gif, .jpg, .jpeg and .png.

NOTES For optimal uploading, keep the size of each picture a maximum of 20 KB.
When importing patron pictures at the site level, the patron Barcode is used; at the district level, the patron District ID is used.
