Store search terms

By storing search terms, you can generate Basic Search, Standards Search, or WebPath Express™ statistics reports, or enable search suggestions in Follett Destiny Quest®.

  1. Open Back Office > Site Configuration > Catalog.
  2. Scroll down to Search Settings.
  3. Select the Store search statistics data … check box.
  4. Enter a number of months: 0 to 12.
  5. Click Save after changing any configurations.

Destiny® stores search term and limiter data by calendar months.

example If you enter 0 (zero), Destiny stores data for the current month only. If you enter 1, Destiny stores data for the current and the previous month. A setting of 2 includes data for this month and the two previous months, and so on.

Destiny stores the first 80 characters of all search terms as entered. It does not ignore any leading articles in search terms.

example It stores The Red Barn and Red Barn as two separate terms.

You can find the [Basic] Search Statistics report in Library Reports in Reports. You can find the Standards Search Statistics report and the WebPath Express Statistics report in Library Reports or Media Reports in Reports.

Important If you clear this check box and click Save, Destiny deletes any stored search term data during the next nightly maintenance process.
