Set up Reading Program Services (RPS) - Fountas and Pinnell

If you subscribe to Follett's Reading Program Service for Fountas and Pinnell, you will need to make two small configurations: Activate the service; and allow patrons to limit their searches by Fountas and Pinnell level.

If you do not subscribe to the service, but do have Fountas and Pinnell levels in your MARC records, you just need to enable the search limiter.

To activate the service

1. Open Back Office > Site Configuration > Site Info.
2. Make sure you have entered your Site Customer Number.
3. Select Use Fountas and Pinnell.
4. To change the frequency of updates, in the Days between ... updates box enter a value (1-99).
5. Click Save.

Once you select this check box, Destiny® updates the Fountas and Pinnell information for your collection. After that, Destiny updates the information automatically each month.

To enable the search limiter

1. Still in Site Configuration, open the Catalog tab.
2. Under Quiz/Level Based Searches, select Support Fountas and Pinnell Searches.
   Please make sure to read the note.
3. Click Save.

Your library patrons can now limit their searches to books with a Fountas and Pinnell level. After searching, the Fountas and Pinnell information appears in the Search Results lists, in Title Details, and in Destiny Quest®'s Quick Details.
