Create a library hold (Catalog)

Select Catalog > Library Search

To hold copies for yourself, you need to be logged into Destiny®. If you do not have a login, see the library staff.

important Your ability to hold copies for yourself is dependent on your access levels.

You can search by:

• Keyword
• Title
• Author
• Subject
• Series

note The instructions that follow only cover Keyword search type. The steps for all the other search options (noted above) are the same as below, with the exception of how you are searching (Title, Author, Subject, or Series).

To create a library hold in catalog

1. If you are not on the Library Search page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
2. Make sure the cursor is in the Find box. Type a keyword you want to search for, then click Keyword.
3. Find the title you want, then click Details.
4. Click Hold it!. The Hold Request page opens.
5. If you have been given the designated access level permission, the Hold box appears. Enter the number of copies you want to hold.

important The static Copies field does not include: lost copies or hidden copies unless the patron has permission to see hidden copies.

If all copies of a title are lost the Copies field does not appear. The patron can only place a hold on the title.

If the library included a title in a related titles group the Copies field includes copies of related titles.

6. Click Save.
