Destiny Discover Menu (Administrator)
The Destiny Discover Menu lets you track your checkouts, holds, and more.
important For full Destiny Discover Menu functionality, you need to be logged in to Destiny®.
Favorites
To see Favorites in your Destiny Discover Menu, you must be on Destiny® 14.5 Automatic Update (AU1) or later.
note Your Favorites list only applies to Destiny Discover.
- To create Favorites you must be logged in.

Click/Tap
 > Favorites
.
- When you add resources to your Favorites list, you can use that list to create a citation list.
- Each patron is allowed one Favorites list. If you have multiple site associations, you can have a unique list at each site.
- Favorites are sorted alphabetically by title.
Reading Paths
Destiny Discover lets teachers set up Reading Paths. See To set up a Reading Path.
note If a student has a ready hold or a Reading Path that has not been started, one or more alerts ( ) appear. When the Destiny Discover Menu shows an alert, it is the combined count of holds and Reading Paths you have not started. When the alert appears on Holds, it shows the number of ready holds.
To set up a Reading Path
If you are a teacher, you can set up Reading Paths for your students.
- You can either log in to Destiny Discover or click your Destiny Discover home page permanent link.
- Select Reading Path Setup. The Reading Path Setup page appears.
- Optional If you are a Classroom Connections instructor you can monitor your students progress by generating a report. To generate a report, click/tapGet Progress Reports.
- Use the following table to complete your task:

- Select Flexible.
- Use the Titles to finish drop-down to
select the number of titles students
are required to read.

- Click Save Reading Path.
- Click/TapAdd Titles. A list of all Follett eBooks appears.
- Find a title to add to your Reading Path. You can use the search field and Filter by options to refine the search results.
- Find the Follett eBook you want to add, and then click/tapAdd to Path. You can also remove a Reading Path. Click/Tap–Remove from Path.
- When you are done adding books, click/tapGo Back.
- To review the titles in the Reading Path, click/tapShow Titles. Use the arrows to re-order the eBooks in the path.
- To assign students to the Reading Path, click/tap+/- Groups.
Checkouts and Holds
note If a student has a ready hold or a Reading Path that has not been started, one or more alerts () appear.
To track checkouts and holds
note At any time, you can return to the Welcome page by tapping .
- From the Destiny Discover Welcome page, > Checkouts or > Holds.
- Select accordingly.
History
note In Follett Destiny® Library Manager, the available history will be limited if the district opted to purge patron checkout history.
To view history
important To view your Destiny Discover Menu History, you need the Access library checkout history permission.
You can see every item you have checked out from the library, as well as any Follett eBook or Follett Audiobook you opened. The date for eBooks and audiobooks shows when they were last opened.
- From the Destiny Discover Welcome page, > History.
- To scroll through your history, click/tap theSee more history link.
- To see the title details or check the availability of an item, click/tap the titles link.
Checkouts
When you select > Checkouts, all your checked-out resources appear.
You can:
- Return Follett eBooks.
- You can return them early, and they are automatically checked in on their due date.
- Open Follett eBooks and Follett eTextbooks.
- They open in the embedded reader.
- Open non-Follett eBooks (with 856 tags).
- Open the title details.
- Renew resources (Destiny titles only).
Holds
When you select > Holds, all your resources on hold appear. You can:
- View title-level holds.
- Check out a Follett eBook that is ready. See Hold Statuses.
- Remove a hold if it is not yet ready. See Hold Statuses.
- Open a Follett eBook in the reader.
- Open the title details by selecting a title or a cover image.
Notebook
Notebook tracks the notes, highlights, and bookmarks that you make in eBooks. They are available even after you return the eBook and when a copy of the eBook is not available. If you do not have any notes, highlights, or bookmarks marked in eBooks, you return to the Home page.
To view your Notebook
note Shared users and guests do not have a Notebook.
- Select Notebook.
- To close your Notebook and re-open, click/tapX.
