The Add Copies or Edit Copy page allows you to enter copy-specific information for the materials in your collection. The information can be as brief or complete as you like.

After entering the appropriate copy information, click Save Copies.

If you want to print new or replacement barcode, spine, or pocket labels for the copies, select the Print labels check box before clicking Save Copies.

Adding and transferring copies

If you are a district cataloger, you can create and transfer copies all in one procedure:

  1. Select the Site Type and Site Name of the school that is to receive the copies.
  2. Select In Transit in the copy Status list.
  3. For Barcode:
    • Choose the first option and enter the starting barcode by typing in the number or scanning the physical barcode.
    • Choose the first option and leave the barcode field blank. This allows the destination school to assign its own barcode number(s) when receiving the copies.
    • Choose Assign next barcode to have Destiny® automatically assign the barcode number(s).
  4. Select or enter any other information for the copies.
  5. Click Save Copies.

Destiny creates the copies and automatically transfers them to the school selected in the Site Name list.

You can track the in-transit copies on the Copies tab of the title record.

To obtain a list of your in-transit copies, generate a Copies In Transit List - Library on the Library page of Reports.

The destination school can receive the copies and assign barcodes to them on the Receive tab of Update Copies.

If an In Transit copy already has a barcode, the destination school can just check it in or out in Circulation to receive it.

If you want to transfer an existing copy, just select the Site Type and Site Name of the school that is to own the copy, and click Save Copy on the Edit Copy page.
