Configure access to digital contentYou may want to prevent unauthorized users outside your school from accessing digital content stored on your Destiny® server. You can do this based on their network address. This page allows you to grant or deny access for individual computers as well as for groups of computers. Patrons can upload digital content to book reviews and library staff can attach digital content to title records in Destiny. When you deny access to digital content, any reviews or title records with digital content appear as though no digital content has been entered. note You can prevent authorized users inside your school from uploading digital content to reviews and title records by removing these permissions from their Access Levels. By default, all computers are granted access to digital content. As soon as you configure access for a single computer or group of computers, all other addresses are automatically denied access. This means you must have all the information you need to configure all addresses before proceeding. You'll need to know the IP address of any computers you want to configure, as well as the subnet mask for any networks you want to configure. Define each computer or network as a single entry.
You cannot grant access to a group of computers within a denied group. To allow access inside a denied group, you must grant access to a single computer. example:To prevent users outside your school from accessing your digital content, choose Grant, then add the IP address and subnet for the gateway of your school's network. |
